Woodblock prints

Original Japanese woodblock prints (mokuhanga) spanning four centuries of printmaking tradition. Our collection includes Edo-period ukiyo-e (浮世絵), early twentieth-century shin-hanga (新版画) produced through the collaborative workshop model of artist, carver, and printer, sōsaku-hanga (創作版画) by artist-printmakers who designed, carved, and printed their own work, gendai-hanga (現代版画) by modern and contemporary artists, and faithful fukkoku (復刻) re-issues of classic designs printed from traditionally carved blocks.

Every print offered here is an authentic handmade woodblock print — not a mechanical reproduction. Each has been individually sourced, researched, and assessed. Condition, provenance, and period are described as accurately as possible in the product listing. If you have questions about a specific print or would like additional photographs, please contact us.
